Indonesia has a range of coastal ecosystems, that includes beaches, sand dunes, estuaries, mangroves, coral reefs, sea grass beds, and small island ecosystems. There are approximately 17,508 islands in the country. People with a love for surfing and hiking must make a visit to Indonesia. The Mentawai Islands off the west coast of Sumatra feature dozens of world class surf spots. Bali, Nusa Lembongan, Lombok, and Sumbawa also offer world class surfing.

Bali, one of the islands of Indonesia and also a province is a famous tourist spot. Known as the famed Island of the Gods, Bali has a varied landscape of hills and mountains, rugged coastlines and sandy beaches. The picturesque scenery is made more beautiful by the lush rice terraces and barren volcanic hillsides.
Indonesia is like a store house of historical temples, monuments, and artifacts. The Borobudur Temple located in the northwest part of Yogyakarta is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. It was built during the reign of the Sailendra rulers.

The temple is a Buddhist stupa and one of world's truly great ancient monuments, the single largest Buddhist structure anywhere on earth. Another unique attraction in Indonesia is the Monkey Forest Sanctuary. This is an enclosed area inhabited by long-tailed and greedy monkeys. The other interesting place in the Sanctuary is Pura Dalem Agung, also known as the Temple of the Dead.

The Golden Triangle with its artistic decoration and lighting make a beautiful sight and draws tourists from all over the world.

Gianyar, Amlapura, Bangli, Bedugul, Denpasar, Ubud, and Tampaksiring are the other major tourist attractions in the country.

Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park, Kerinci Seblat National Park, and the Komodo National Park offer great adventure. These national parks offer great panoramic views of the tropical wilderness of Indonesia that include tigers, elephants, dragons, monstrous rafflesia flowers and some of the most scariest volcanic scenery on the planet. They are a major attraction for nature lovers.

Indonesia is also home to the largest volcanic lake in the world - Lake Toba. Situated in Sumatra, Lake Toba was formed by a gigantic volcanic eruption some 70,000 years ago. Today, it is a popular tourist destination known most for jungle trekking.

With a staggering variety of places and recreational activities, Indonesia is truly a tourist's delight. The best time to visit Indonesia is during dry season between April and October. The weather is pleasant during this time of the year because the humidity is relatively less.

For meeting girls visit Borneo or Jakarta. You'll find lots of Indonesian women that are on holiday in these places, they love to meet tourists and they're open for chats and drinks with interesting people. The women from Jakarta for example are very interesting in men who have a sense of humor, the Borneo girls on the other hand like to have serious chats about the differences in countries and cultures.
